Who we are

What we collect
We only collect what you type into a form on this site. We do not require accounts, and we do not run advertising or analytics trackers.
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), project type, and message
- Customer intake form: name, business name, phone, email, mailing address, project details, and how you heard about us
- Server logs: your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested, kept automatically by the web server for security and troubleshooting
Why we collect it
To respond to your inquiry, quote your project, arrange pickup or delivery, and send an invoice. That is the whole purpose. We do not build marketing profiles and we do not send newsletters unless you ask us to.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. A small number of service providers necessarily handle it in the course of doing their job:
- Resend — delivers the notification email when you submit a form
- Proton Mail — hosts the inbox that receives those notifications
- Stripe — processes payments if you buy something. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our server
- DigitalOcean — hosts the server this site runs on, in the United States
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site, which involves your browser requesting files from Google
Where it's stored and for how long
Form submissions are stored in a database on our own server in the United States, backed up daily. We keep inquiries as long as they're useful for serving you and for our business records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time and we will, unless we're required to keep it for tax or accounting purposes.
How it's protected
The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. The server uses key-only administrative access, an active firewall, and automatic security updates. The lead database is not publicly accessible. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to a small business handling this kind of information.
Your choices
Email info@merlinmetalsllc.com or call (530) 362-8804 to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We'll respond within a reasonable time at no charge.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for how sites should respond to it. This site does not track visitors across other websites and does not run advertising trackers, so there is no cross-site tracking for the signal to disable.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information here, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
